Scorchers!
As Fred Eaglesmith sang “Yer spooking the horses”. Scorchers were reviled for reckless riding that upset the pedestrians and horses that populated city streets in the 1890s. 100 years later, Ibis released a wicked fast single speed named the Scorcher. The term has lost a bit of its menace over the decades but a Scorcher will always be a bit of a rebel on two wheels.
